The verb said in the first person用第一人称说出来的动词
Latin credo means I believe. It is the first person of credere, to believe, to trust. Old English crēda takes the Latin word for a formal statement of faith, because the statement itself began with that verb. English creed is that statement, and then any set of principles a person is willing to say aloud.
Credit is the same verb turned toward money and reputation: trust extended. Incredible is the same verb refused. Creed is the rare member of the family that is still shaped like a person speaking.
The word arrives whole. Slicing it into smaller English pieces would be a fiction.
拉丁语 credo 是我相信。它是 credere（相信、信托）的第一人称。古英语 crēda 接过这个拉丁语词，用来表示一份正式的信仰声明，因为声明本身就以这个动词开始。英语 creed 是那份声明，然后是一个人愿意大声说出来的任何一套原则。
