Astrologia is an account of the stars. Greek logos here is an account, a reasoned telling, not a modern slogan about “the word.” Set beside astronomia, it looks like a twin: one word for order, one for meaning.
For centuries the twinship was real. The person who mapped the heavens and the person who asked the heavens about a birth were not yet sorted into scientist and fortune-teller. The split is a later achievement, and a contested one. The words remember a time when it had not been made.
English inherited both, already formed. Astrology kept the interpretive art. Astronomy walked off with the ordering, and then with the physics.
Astrologia 是关于星辰的一套讲述。这里的希腊语 logos 是讲述、有条理的说明，不是后来那句关于“道”或“词语”的口号。把它放在 astronomia 旁边，看起来像一对：一个词负责秩序，一个词负责意义。
许多个世纪里，这对孪生是真的。绘制天空的人，和向天空询问一次出生的人，还没有被分成科学家和算命的人。分开是后来的成就，而且一直有争议。这两个词记得一个尚未分开的时代。
英语继承的时候，两个词都已经成形。占星术留下了解释的技艺。天文学带走了排序，后来又带走了物理学。
